Irving Berlin's White Christmas - National Tour

The classic holiday story based on Irving Berlin's beloved film.

David Elder Turns On His 1950s MGM Charm in White Christmas

When White Christmas arrives at Uihlein Hall at the Marcus Center on November 26, David Elder will tap across the stage as Phil Davis, the role made famous by Danny Kaye in the classic 1954 movie. Being in the holiday musical transports the Broadway vet back to a nostalgic, simpler time.

“This show takes me back to the days of the exciting variety shows and its stars,” Elder says of his triple-threat character. “Being the fun-loving sidekick to Bob Wallace’s (James Clow) more reserved persona allows me ample opportunity to keep it light and bubbling with MGM ladies-man charm!”

In the show, Phil and his showbiz partner Bob perform a holiday show at a picturesque Vermont inn while romancing sisters Judy Haynes (Meredith Patterson) and Betty Haynes (Trista Moldovan), respectively. The musical features the classic songs “Happy Holiday,” “White Christmas” and “I’ve Got My Love To Keep Me Warm.”

“I think our production of White Christmas reminds our audiences how beautiful life can be if we put down those computers, iPads and smart phones once in a while and revisit being more present with those we love,” Elder says. “Helping a friend in need will always be more gratifying than anything we can do for ourselves.” White Christmas will play Milwaukee through December 1.
