Irving Berlin's White Christmas - National Tour

The classic holiday story based on Irving Berlin's beloved film.

Meredith Patterson Calls Reuniting with Dance Partner David Elder in White Christmas 'A Dream Come True'

When White Christmas opens at Uihlein Hall at the Marcus Center on November 26, Meredith Patterson will star as Judy Haynes, one fourth of two couples who fall in love during a snowy holiday stay at a Vermont inn. It will be her eighth spin in the Irving Berlin musical—Patterson originated the role of Judy during its world premiere in San Francisco in 2004 and then created the part on Broadway in 2008. For Patterson, White Christmas is a gift that keeps on giving.

“Judy Haynes is the first role I ever originated on stage and Vera Ellen, who played Judy in the 1954 movie, is a childhood idol of mine,” Patterson says. “I think of all of those factors and how truly lucky I am to be playing this role.”

This season of White Christmas is bringing Patterson an added bonus—pairing up with a former co-star. “I get to reunite with my sweet friend David Elder, who plays my love interest Phil Davis. The last time we danced together was the 42nd Street revival on Broadway in 2001. He is a joy and dancing together again is a dream come true.”

“My favorite moment that tops them all is getting in my red dress during the finale and singing the title song," Patterson says. "It is the most gorgeous scene and truly is a Norman Rockwell painting come to life.”

Patterson is joined on stage by Elder as Phil Davis, James Clow as Bob Wallace and Trista Moldovan as Betty Haynes. White Christmas will play Milwaukee through December 1.
